§ 50-251. Entry for inspection.

  • (a)

    If a tenant refuses the periodic inspection and there are no known substandard living conditions, the city will not conduct the inspection. The inspector will document the refusal and provide written notification to the property owner.

    (b)

    If a property owner refuses the periodic inspection, but the tenant desires the inspection to occur, the inspector will inspect the rental housing unit.

    (c)

    If consent to enter any rental housing property or any rental housing unit is refused or otherwise cannot be obtained and the inspector has reasonable cause to believe a substandard living condition exists, the director may seek an inspection warrant from a court of competent jurisdiction.
