§ 74-39. Refuse removal.
Except as otherwise provided by this chapter, all refuse, other than rubbish, created, produced or accumulated in or about a dwelling unit situated in the city, shall be collected in a garbage cart and removed from the premises by the residential refuse collector at least once every week. All refuse other than rubbish, created, produced or accumulated in or about any business or commercial enterprise with a fixed location shall be removed from the premises by a commercial permittee at least once every week. Pursuant to regulations issued as required by section 74-2, the general services department may require a greater or lesser number of collections consistent with proper sanitation requirements. It is unlawful for the owner, occupant, tenant or lessee of any of such premises to fail or neglect to provide for the removal of refuse as required by this section or regulations issued under this chapter. Each day's violation of this section shall be treated and considered to be a separate and distinct offense.
