§ 8-61. Responsibility.

  • The Chief of Animal Services is responsible for the regulation and the enforcement of this Chapter and other laws dealing with animals existing within the incorporated territory of the City of Citrus Heights. The duties of the Chief of Animal Services shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

    1.

    To administer the Animal Control Center and keep such records as may be required;

    2.

    To take up and impound animals which are in violation of this Chapter;

    3.

    To remove and dispose of the carcass of any animal found on any public highway, street, alley or other public place;

    4.

    To quarantine animals and to cooperate with the County Health Officer; and

    5.

    To administer licensing and permit programs as provided for in this Chapter.
